How does my engine or transmission arrive?

Great question — here's exactly what to expect when your engine or transmission arrives.

Packaging

  • Used engines and transmissions arrive on a 3x3 pallet, securely shrink-wrapped. Fluids are drained prior to shipment for safety during transport.
  • Remanufactured parts arrive in a special POD container. This container is also the vessel used to return your old (core) part, so hang on to it.

Delivery Process

  • The freight carrier will contact you before delivery to schedule a delivery window. Make sure your phone number is current on your order.
  • Signature is required at delivery — someone must be present to accept and sign for the shipment.
  • The carrier will not leave the shipment unattended.

Do You Need a Liftgate?

If your delivery location does not have a loading dock or forklift — including most residential addresses — you'll need liftgate service. A liftgate is a hydraulic platform on the back of the truck that lowers your pallet to the ground safely. Liftgate service is available for an additional $99.

Inspect Before You Sign

Before signing the delivery receipt, take a moment to inspect the packaging for any visible damage. If you see damage, note it on the delivery paperwork before signing and contact us right away at 1-844-XPARTS-1.
