If your remanufactured engine or transmission fails due to a covered defect, you may be eligible for labor reimbursement on the repair. Here's how it works.
LABOR REIMBURSEMENT — KEY TERMS
- Reimbursement rate: $50 per hour, based on the Mitchell On-Demand labor guide
- When it's paid: After our remanufacturing facility inspects the returned unit and confirms the failure is covered under warranty — not before
- Who qualifies: Only vehicles where the original installation AND the warranty repair were both performed by a Licensed Automotive Repair Facility (LARF)
- DIY disqualification: Repairs performed by the owner, or by an unlicensed shop, are not eligible for labor reimbursement
- Marine engines: Labor reimbursement is capped at $800
- Used engines and used transmissions: No labor reimbursement — parts only
- Maximum reimbursement: Total reimbursement (parts + labor) cannot exceed the original purchase price of the part
HOW TO GET PAID
A detailed repair order or invoice from the licensed shop must be submitted along with all other required warranty documentation. Labor reimbursement is not automatic — it is reviewed as part of the warranty claim process.
