KEY NOTES: • The LS1 uses an all-aluminum construction — both block and heads — making it significantly lighter than the iron-block small blocks it replaced. • Early 1997 Corvette LS1s have slightly different accessories and some casting differences from later production. • The Camaro/Firebird LS1 (F-body) produced slightly different power than the Corvette variant due to different intake and exhaust tuning. • The LS1 shares the same bore and stroke as the LS6, which is the high-performance version. The LS6 has revised heads, intake manifold, and higher compression.
